Senior Research Fellowships

All Souls College Senior Research Fellowships are equivelent to a full professorship or statutory chair in the University of Oxford or to a pure-research tenured chair in the United States. Senior Research Fellowships are open to senior academic and independent scholars with an outstanding record of research.

The primary duty of a Senior Research Fellows is to pursue, on a full-time basis, a programme of academic research in Oxford. Senior Research Fellows are members of the Governing Body of the College and as such are also expected to attend and participate in all full meetings of the College, serve on College Committees, and hold College officerships.

The next Senior Research Fellowship competition will open in late May/early June of 2027, with positions tenable from October 2028. Further particulars, including details of which fields are being recruited, will be posted on this webpage at that time.
