Julia Moore

Literature, Modern Languages
Examination Fellow since 2023

I work mostly on modern poetry, in English and in French. My thesis examines how poets and dancers thought and wrote about movement in the first half of the twentieth century. I trace a line between French symbolism and American avant-garde writing. I am interested, more broadly, in the relationship between modern poetry and other arts, mostly in North American and French contexts. My work combines literary close readings with twentieth-century cultural and intellectual history.
