Chapel, All Souls College Oxford

The Chapel

A warm welcome to All Souls Chapel. The Chapel is a serene space of beauty and light, set apart for contemplation and prayer. It is open to everyone. Fellows and staff can visit at any time and the Chapel is usually open to visitors from 2pm to 4pm (See opening times). The Chapel offers a tranquil sanctuary, steeped in history.

The Chapel has been a holy place of prayer for nearly 600 years. Chapel services are open to those of all faiths and none, offering a time for reflection, solace and peace. We welcome members of the public to all services.

Members of the public are welcome to attend these services. Access is through the main College entrance on the High Street.

The Chaplain

Our Chaplain is the Revd Canon Rachel Carnegie. Rachel leads the Chapel services, supported by the Senior and Junior Deans, and also has a wider chaplaincy role across the College.

She seeks to foster a welcoming space in the Chapel, where all may feel a sense of belonging regardless of their beliefs; where all may experience peace in its beautiful and spiritual surroundings. Rachel is available to talk with any member of the College community.

Rachel has worked in international development since 1985 in both secular and faith-based organisations. See her profile for more details. She combines this work with her part-time role as Chaplain.
