Olana is an Examination Fellow, elected in 2022. Her research areas include twentieth-century Britain and South Asia, overseas students in Britain, the 1968 global student movement, the Algerian Revolution, empires and decolonisation, race, resistance and belonging, and public history and contested spaces. She was a Rhodes Scholar in 2020.
