The College mourns Professor Chris Wickham FBA, who died on 9 October following an illness.
Chris Wickham was the Chichele Professor of Medieval History at Oxford from 2005 to 2016, and subsequently an Emeritus Fellow of All Souls College. He had previously taught at the University of Birmingham for nearly thirty years. He was a towering historian of early medieval Europe, and a generous and inspiring source of academic camaraderie to all.
