Natural Sciences
All Souls has been the home of a number of distinguished scientists in the past, including Sir Christopher Wren (an astronomer and a founder of the Royal Society, as well as a famous architect), Thomas Linacre (founder of the Royal College of Physicians), Dennis Sciama (cosmology), and Richard Dalitz (particle theory). Highlights of recent years include the award of the 2024 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics to John Cardy and the appointment of Angela McLean as UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser.
