Dame Marina Warner awarded the Holberg Prize

Professor Dame Marina Warner, Fellow of All Souls College, has been awarded the 2015 Holberg Prize for ‘her work on the analysis of stories and myths and how they reflect their time and place’. The Holberg Prize, established by the Norwegian Parliament, is awarded annually to a scholar who has made an outstanding contribution to research in the arts and humanities, social sciences, law, or theology.

Professor Marina Warner appointed DBE

Marina Warner, Fellow of All Souls and Professor of English and Creative Writing at Birkbeck College, University of London, has been appointed a Dame (DBE) in the 2015 New Year's Honours List. 

Alex Mullen awarded the James Henry Breasted Prize

Dr Alex Mullen, Fellow of All Souls College, has been awarded the American Historical Association’s 2014 James Henry Breasted Prize, awarded for the best book in English in any field of history prior to CE 1000, for her book Southern Gaul and the Mediterranean: Multilingualism and Multiple Identities in the Iron Age and Roman Periods.

Professor Chris Wickham awarded the British Academy Serena Medal

Professor Chris Wickham, Fellow of All Souls College, has been awarded the British Academy Serena Medal, given annually 'for eminent services towards the furtherance of the study of Italian history, literature, art or economics'. 

 

 

FBA Elections

Professors Susanne Bobzien, Stephen Smith and Cecilia Trifogli, Fellows of All Souls College, have been elected Fellows of the British Academy.
