It is with great sadness that the College reports the death of Myles Burnyeat CBE, FBA, Senior Research Fellow of the College from 1996 to 2006, and subsequently an Emeritus Fellow.

Stephen Cretney (1936-2019)

It is with great sadness that the College reports the death of Stephen Cretney QC, FBA, Senior Research Fellow of the College  from 1993 to 2001, and subsequently an Emeritus Fellow. 

Andrew Burrows appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court

Professor Andrew Burrows QC, Fellow of All Souls College, has been appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court.

John Gardner (1965-2019)

It is with great sadness that the College reports the death, following illness, of Professor John Gardner FBA, Prize Fellow 1986-1991, Senior Research Fellow from 2016, and formerly Professor of Jurisprudence at Oxford.

A Memorial Service will be held at All Souls on Saturday 30 November at 2.30pm.

Angela McLean appointed as Chief Scientific Adviser at the MOD

Professor Dame Angela McLean, Fellow of All Souls College, has been appointed as Chief Scientific Adviser at the Ministry of Defence. 

Sir Guenter Treitel (1928-2019)

It is with great sadness that the College reports the death of Sir Guenter Treitel QC FBA, Vinerian Professor of English Law at All Souls from 1979 to 1996, and subsequently an Emeritus Fellow.

A Memorial Service will be held at All Souls on Saturday 12 October at 2.30pm.

It is with great sadness that the College reports the death on 26 February of Tony Honoré, Regius Professor of Civil Law from 1971 to 1988.

A Memorial Service will be held at All Souls on Saturday 8 June at 2.30pm.
